SIGGRAPH 2000: The Studio – ACM SIGGRAPH HISTORY ARCHIVES

SIGGRAPH 2000: The Studio

Overview:

The Studio is a “hands-on” experience for attendees who want to try out software/hardware combinations. It is the only SIGGRAPH 2000 program where the content is created at the conference by attendees. Artists, scientists, and engineers can walk in, create, and realize their ideas on paper and other 2D mate- rials, and make 3D forms in wax, ABS plastic, etc. In The Studio, technologists team with artists to imagine and create with state-of-the-art systems in a computer graphics laboratory showcasing high-end computer workstations, a multitude of software featuring 2D and 3D design and print technologies, and an array of professional, large-format printers showing the latest in print and color technologies. The Studio also features the latest 3D output devices (desktop modelers, or rapid prototyping machine) and traditional milling equipment.
